Need to find more time in a day?

I told Brian tonight that I feel like I have at least 2.75 jobs.  I am a wife called to be the completer to my God-ordained husband, mom to three busy kids, teach school 40 hours a week, minister with Brian to the amazing people at Clearpoint Church, work with several couples seeking healing for their marriages, go to graduate school, and seek God daily by setting aside time to pray, read the Word, and reflect (sometimes known as blogging, always known as journaling).  When I think of all the things I need to do each day, I wonder how I get it done.  I believe God multiplies my time.

Life lesson:  No time to waste

This morning I read Acts 8 and rehashed it tonight with Brian.  I was talking to him about Philip at the end of the chapter.  This chapter is so full and rich, I might have missed verses 39 and 40 had the Lord not led me to discuss this great passage with Brian.  Consider the words: “When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away. The eunuch never saw him again but went on his way rejoicing. Meanwhile, Philip found himself farther north at the town of Azotus. He preached the Good News there and in every town along the way until he came to Caesarea.”  Did you catch the miracle?  Philip was so busy obeying the Holy Spirit and doing God’s work that the Holy Spirit made the most of his time.  After he ministered to the eunuch, he was transported by the Spirit to his next assignment.  No time was wasted.

I am more convinced now than ever that we serve a God who loves time well managed.  We do not have time to waste.  Time complaining, crying, gossiping, reasoning, questioning, blaming others, and making excuses is wasted time.  We can never reclaim time.  Brian heard Rick Warren at the Radicalis conference last week say, “Spend your money, save your time.  You can always make more money, but never gain more time.”  Rick Warren also says, “Self-centered living is so common. The only truly RADICAL lifestyle is obeying God in faith, even when it doesn’t make sense.”  When the Spirit spoke to Philip, he did not hesitate.  He obeyed.  He didn’t question, complain, or reason, he did not waste time.  What a great challenge!  We have no time to waste.  When we obey and are empowered by the Spirit, God will multiply our time.  See, I typed this blog in less than 5 minutes…I hope you read it in even less time!  Serve on mighty warrior. He will multiply your time!
