Talked to a few friends over the past few weeks.  One is desperate for a husband, another desperate for a house, another desperate for friends, another desperate for health.  I started thinking about how what we are desperate for changes in how we live.  When I am desperate for food, I will do whatever it takes to find it.  When I am desperate for sleep, I will make my need known to everyone and halt everything in life until I get rest.

What if we were just desperate for God's presence in our life?  The interesting thing I have noticed:  when we are desperate for Him, nothing else matters except being with Him.  We will fast, pray, change jobs, forsake relationships, not have a care about what others think of us, nothing else matters until our souls are satisfied with His presence.  The greatest thing is when we truly take delight in Him, he takes care of all of our desires.   We are no longer desperate, we are satisfied!

Life lesson:  He is all we need.

Need a friend?  He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24

Need a mate?  He is the perfect bridegroom.  For as a young man marries a young woman, so shall your sons marry you, and as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you.  Isaiah 62:5, John 3:29, Matthew 9:15

Need a family?  You can be adopted into the family of God.  Joint heir with Jesus!  You should behave instead like God's very own children, adopted into his family--calling him "Father, dear Father."  Romans 8:15, Galatians 4:5, Ephesians 1:5

Need a God?  There is none as Great as He!  For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, and he is to be held in awe above all gods.  I Chronicles 16:25, Hebrews 6:13, Psalm 95:3

Need protection?  For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory. Psalm 32:7, Psalm 14:6

Need a purpose?  I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me.  Psalms 57:2, The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness. John 10:10

Praying that you would have all you need, and that He would satisfy your soul!
